I love Art in a home and I think its doable no matter what your budget.Art can transform and make a house a home as a way to to your stamp on your dwelling.
The key with Artwork for the home in my opinion is to pick a piece of Art that you love. Picking Art as an investment is difficult and challenging and would one really want a piece one doesn’t love just because you think it will increase in value with time? Perhaps, but it’s not something I would do and I suspect neither would you.
Art can be a reflection of your personality and tell visitors something about your unique personality and what you love. Art also provide great joy and comfort. Pick the piece of Art that appeals to you and within your budget and you will always be sure you made the right choice.
What I’ve chosen to do with this art curation is show case a few pieces I currently have available (I update this pretty often)to show how these can lift and enhance a room. I’ve included a few notes that may be useful for you to do something similar in your home, if not with these works, with something similar.
Living Room Curation
Small Open Plan Apartment – A few different ideas using the same space. I lived in a somewhat similar apartment for a while and completely understand the challenges of decorating a space that has to fill so many roles and work very hard. Ive used Art in a few different ways to demonstrate what’s possible.
1)A couple of painting with similar themes and size hung at slightly different heights adds interest
2) A selection of different paintings subscribing to the view that more is more and create your own gallery at home
Bedroom Curation
I’m not fond of paintings above a headboard feeling they are somewhat oppressive and add heaviness. I prefer they be either on the side or one of the other walls. I suggest paintings that are happy and peaceful to ensure there is good energy flow.
